Stingrays re-sign Charbonneau

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Washington Capitals and American Hockey League’s Hershey Bears, have agreed to terms with forward Jonathan Charbonneau for the 2018-19 season.

Charbonneau joined the Stingrays late in the 2017-18 season after finishing his college career at Mercyhurst University and appeared in nine regular-season contests as well as four playoff games. He immediately stepped into a big role offensively, scoring nine points (5g-4a), including four power-play goals.

Charbonneau suited up for 33 games during his senior season with the Lakers last year and scored a career-high 29 points (17g-12a). The native of St-Columban, Quebec played in 145 games during his four-year NCAA career, posting 102 points (56g-46a) along with a +10 rating.

Before enrolling at Mercyhurst, Charbonneau played for the St. Jerome Panthers in the Quebec AAA Junior Hockey League and scored 89 points (40g-49a) in 42 games. He also appeared in six contests with the Smiths Falls Bears in the Central Canadian Hockey League, scoring three points (1g-2a).
