Fort Wayne, Ind. - The Fort Wayne Komets announced that veteran forward Garret Ross has agreed to terms with the team for the 2018-19 season.
The Komets are the ECHL affiliate of the Vegas Golden Knights of the National Hockey League and the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League.
Ross, 26, will be entering his sixth season as a pro after making his debut in the American Hockey League in 2013-14. He posted a career year in 2014-15 scoring 43 points (21g-22a) and ranking second on Rockford in scoring. His career has yielded 114 points (51g-63a) and 397 penalty minutes in 288 AHL games with Rockford, Tucson and Rochester.
Selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the fifth round (139th overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, Ross finished a four-year juniors career with Saginaw in the Ontario Hockey League in 2012-13.
During his stint in the OHL, he was named a 2012-13 Second Team All-Star while serving as the Spirit's captain. He led the Spirit his final season with a career best 44 goals in 60 games.
