Cincinnati, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Buffalo Sabres and the American Hockey League's Rochester Americans, have announced forward Dominic Zombo has been re-signed for the 2018-19 season.
Embarking on his fourth pro season, Zombo accounted for 21 points (3g-18a) in 2017-18, and ranked second on the squad with 71 games played. In two seasons in a Cyclones sweater, Zombo has totaled 44 points (15g-29a) in 134 games played.
Hailing from Ballwin, Missouri, Zombo appeared in 69 games with the Toledo Walleye as a rookie in 2015-16, accounting for 26 points (10g-16a) along with 36 penalty minutes. He helped Toledo to a first-place finish in the Eastern Conference that season, and appeared in five playoff games where he dished out a pair of assists.
Prior to his time in Toledo, Zombo was a four-year letter winner for the University of Nebraska-Omaha where he served as an alternate captain during his junior season of 2013-14, and was named team captain the following year during his senior season. He appeared in 137 games over four seasons and totaled 86 points (36g-50a). Before his collegiate days, Zombo played his junior hockey for the Sioux Falls Stampede of the United States Hockey League, recording 47 points (28g-29a) in 111 games over parts of three seasons.
