St. John’s, Newfoundland – The Newfoundland Growlers have signed defenseman Kyle Thacker to a contract for the 2018-19 season.
The Growlers are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Toronto Maple Leafs and the American Hockey League's Toronto Marlies.
The Mississauga, Ontario native appeared in four games in the ECHL last season with the Wheeling Nailers. The 25-year-old skated in 91 games over four seasons with SUNY-Potsdam Bears, where he recorded 41 points (8g-33a) along with 52 penalty minutes.
