Kalamazoo, Mich. - The Kalamazoo Wings, ECHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, added a trio of players for the 2018-19 season, signing forwards Kyle Blaney and Robert Darrar in addition to defenseman Matt Joyaux.
Blaney, who hass spent the last two seasons in Kalamazoo, returns after finishing last season tied for fifth on the team with 45 points (10g-35a). In his second professional season he also ranked second on the team with 35 assists when the season ended in April.
Darrar comes to Kalamazoo after playing four seasons at the University of Vermont where he was a captain during his senior year. During his time with the Catamounts, the forward put up 37 points (13g-24a), including a career high 10 assists in his final year.
Joyaux joins the K-Wings after finishing his collegiate career at Ohio State University last season. A native of Bloomingdale, Illinois, he began his collegiate career playing two seasons at Miami University before transferring. Joyaux appeared in 102 games between the two schools netting 29 points (7g-22a).
