NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Washington Capitals and American Hockey League’s Hershey Bears, have agreed to terms with forward Jake Kamrass for the 2018-19 season.
The Atlanta native will start his first full professional year with the Stingrays after signing with the team in March and suiting up for 12 regular-season games and four playoff contests at the end of the 2017-18 campaign.
During his short stint with the club, Kamrass posted 14 points (5g-9a) to go along with a +7 rating. He had four multi-point efforts, registering a point in nine of his 12 regular season appearances.
Kamrass concluded his collegiate career at UMass-Lowell last season before turning pro, suiting up for 36 games during his senior season while scoring 12 points (5g-7a). The 24-year-old played in 111 total NCAA contests with the Riverhawks from 2014-18 and piled up 46 points (24g-22a) while helping lead his squad to Hockey East regular season and tournament championships in 2017.
Prior to enrolling at UMass-Lowell, Kamrass played three seasons with the Topeka Roadrunners in the North American Hockey League from 2011-14, enjoying his best year during 2013-14 with 59 points (24g-35a) in 60 games.
