St. John’s, Newfoundland – The Newfoundland Growlers have signed defenseman Adam Pardy to a contract for the 2018-19 season.
The Growlers are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Toronto Maple Leafs and the American Hockey League's Toronto Marlies.
The native of Bonavista, Newfoundland was selected by the Calgary Flames in the sixth round (173rd overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. Pardy went on to appear in 342 NHL games with Calgary, Dallas, Buffalo, Winnipeg, Edmonton and Nashville, registering 55 points (5g-50a) and 276 penalty minutes. He also has previous ECHL experience, recording 12 points (1g-11a) in 41 games with the Las Vegas Wranglers as a rookie in 2005-06.
Pardy, 34, most recently skated in 11 games last season for Frolunda HC in the Swedish Hockey League where he totaled one assist and 18 penalty minutes.
