The Harper Woods, Michigan native appeared in 139 NCAA games from 2014-18, 35 points (6g-29a) and 98 penalty minutes. His best offensive season came in 2016-17, when he recorded 13 points (3g-10a) as a junior. Dornbrock was a member of Miami’s NCHC championship team in 2015.

Prior to college, Dornbrock played three seasons of junior hockey, one with the United States Hockey League’s Omaha Lancers and two split between the North American Hockey League’s Topeka Roadrunners and Minot Minotauros.
