NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The South Carolina Stingrays, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Washington Capitals and American Hoceky League’s Hershey Bears, have agreed to terms with forward Lawton Courtnall for the 2022-23 season.In 68 games with the Stingrays during the 2021-22 season, Courtnall racked up 28 points (13g-15a).
The native of Westlake Village, California has suited up for 122 career ECHL games with South Carolina and Wheeling totaling 41 points (21g-20a).Prior to turning pro in 2020, Courtnall spent four seasons at Western Michigan University where he compiled 36 points (17g-19a) in 138 games.Courtnall’s father, Russ, played 15 seasons in the NHL with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Montreal Canadiens, Minnesota North Stars, Dallas Stars, Vancouver Canucks, New York Rangers and Los Angeles Kings. His sister, Ally, won a National Championship at UCLA in soccer. In addition, his other sister, Brooklyn, is on Team Canada’s U-20 team that qualified for the FIFA Under-20 Women’s World Cup that begins next month.
