Toledo, Ohio – Toledo native and defenseman Gordi Myer has agreed to terms with the Toledo Walleye for the 2022-23 season.Myer returns to his hometown team after skating in 55 contests during the 2021-22 season, posting 25 points (5g-20a). He also got his first taste of the American Hockey League this past season with two assists in eight contests for the Grand Rapids Griffins. In Toledo’s run to the Kelly Cup Finals, Myer had six points (1g-5a) and was a +4 in 21 contests. He spent his first pro season in 2020-21 with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits, tallying 10 points (4g-6a) in 36 games.Prior to turning professional, the 26-year-old spent four seasons at Ohio State University where he had 39 points (8g-31a) and 31 penalty minutes in 133 career games. While skating as a Buckeye, Myer was on the Big 10 Honorable Mention All-Star Team and won the 2019-20 Sportsmanship Award.
