Swamp Rabbits agree to terms with Willett

GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Greenville Swamp Rabbits announced that the club has signed defenseman Dan Willett to a contract ahead of the 2022-23 season. Willett joins Greenville after a brief stint with the South Carolina Stingrays at the end of the 2021-22 season. In his six games with South Carolina, the Glen Cove, New York native picked up a pair of assists. Prior to turning pro, the 26-year-old recorded 88 points (14g-74a) in 166 career games for the Rochester Institute of Technology over a five-year tenure. In his final two seasons, he led all RIT defensemen in scoring, combining for 36 points (9g-27a) over that span and served as the team captain during his senior campaign.Willett spent five seasons in the United States Hockey League, recording appearances with the Lincoln Stars, Muskegon Lumberjacks, Madison Capitals and Bloomington Thunder.
