KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Kalamazoo Wings, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Columbus Blue Jackets, announced the signing of rookie forward Mason McCarty.
McCarty enters his first professional season, after playing four seasons in the Western Hockey League with Saskatoon and Red Deer (2014-18), followed by two seasons collegiately with Acadia University (2019-22). McCarty also played 15 games for Rapid City in 2018-19 prior to attending Acadia.
The Blackie, Alberta native totaled 156 points (84g-72a) in 220 games played across four seasons in the WHL. He then tallied 10 points (6g-4a) in his time with the Rush before heading to Acadia in 2019.
McCarty finished his college career with 32 points (16g-16as) in 42 games played for the Axemen.
