Der-Arguchintsev makes NHL debut

Former Newfoundland Growlers' forward Semyon Der-Arguchintsev became the 730th former ECHL player to reach the National Hockey League when he debuted with the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday at Dallas.

Der-Arguchintsev is the third former ECHL player to make his NHL debut during the 2022-23 season. He recorded two points (1g-1a) in three regular-season games with the Growlers in the 2018-19 season and added two points (1g-1a) in nine postseason contests as Newfoundland captured the 2019 Kelly Cup title. Der-Arguchintsev becomes the 48th player whose name is on the Kelly Cup to play in the ECHL.

A third-round selection (76th overall) of the Maple Leafs in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft, Der-Arguchintsev has posted 54 points (19g-35a) in 77 career games with Toronto of the American Hockey League.
