Silovs makes NHL debut

Former Trois-Rivières Lions goaltender Arturs Silovs became the 736th former ECHL player to reach the National Hockey League when he debuted with the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday against the New York Rangers. 

Silovs is the ninth former ECHL player to make his NHL debut during the 2022-23 season. He appeared in 10 games with the Lions in 2021-22 going 6-3-1 with one shutout, a 2.37 goals-against avearge and a save percentage of .920. 

A sixth-round selection (156th overall) of the Canucks in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, Silovs has seen action in 46 career AHL games with Manitoba and Abbotsford posting an overall record of 24-16-4 with four shutouts, a 2.60 goals-against average and a save percentage of .902.
