Patera makes NHL debut

Former Fort Wayne Komets' goaltender Jiri Patera became the 738th former ECHL player to reach the National Hockey League when he debuted with the Vegas Golden Knights on Sunday at St. Louis. 

Patera is the 11th former ECHL player to make his NHL debut during the 2022-23 season. He appeared in 15 games with the Komets during the 2021-22 season, going 7-5-3 with one shutout, a 2.77 goals-against average and a save percentage of .906.

A sixth-round selection (161st overall) of the Golden Knights in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, Patera has posted a record of 24-28-2 in 56 career appearances with Henderson of the American Hockey League with one shutout, a 2.79 goals-against average and a save percentage of .910.
