Allen, Texas – The Allen Americans announced the team has signed defenseman Matt Brassard to a contract for the 2023-24 season.

Allen acquired Brassard's rights from Savannah last month, completing last season's trade of Darian Skeoch to the Ghost Pirates. In eight games last season with the Ghost Pirates, he had two assists. He signed with Savannah after completing his collegiate career at the University of Prince Edward Island where he totaled 39 points (8g-31a) in 44 games during the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons.

A native of Barrie, Ontario, Brassard has previous ECHL experience with Fort Wayne and Wichita, recording three points (1g-2a) in 14 games during the 2019-20 season.
