Keranen joins K-Wings for rookie season

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Kalamazoo Wings, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Vancouver Canucks, announced that the team has signed rookie defenseman Jay Keranen to a contract for the 2023-24 season.

In 2022-23, Keranen suited up in 40 games for the University of Michigan, picking up five points (1g-4a), and finished his career with the Wolverines with nine points (3g-6a) in 69 games. 

Prior to his time at Michigan, Keranen played two seasons with Prince George of the British Columbia Hockey League, totaling 13 points (1g-12a) in 98 career games and capturing a BCHL championship in 2018-19.
