RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rapid City Rush, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Calgary Flames, announced the re-signing of defenseman Carter Robertson for his second season with the team, and his third as a professional.
Robertson began the 2022-23 season with the Norfolk Admirals, skating in three games before being acquired by the Rush in a trade for Tanner Schachle and future considerations, and became a key contributor to the scoring depth of the Rush on the back-end. In 55 games with Rapid City, Robertson tallied 27 points (5g-22a) in addition to a +13 rating.
Originally from Holland Landing, Ontario, Robertson, began his career in Slovakia in 2020-21. He returned to North America the next year and split time with the Admirals and American Hockey League’s Charlotte Checkers. Robertson notched 15 points (4g-11p) in 38 games with Norfolk and added another tally in five appearances in the first AHL stint of his career.
Prior to turning pro, Robertson skated four seasons with the Ontario Hockey League’s Owen Sound Attack and Ottawa 67’s, compiling overall totals of 83 points (19g-64a) in 229 games.
