The Professional Hockey Players’ Association (PHPA) and ECHL, in association with MeiGray, are pleased to announce that the annual ECHL-PHPA Captains’ Club Jersey Auction, which benefits the ECHL Health and Welfare Trust, is officially underway.
Captain sweaters from all 28 ECHL teams which were game worn during the 2022-23 season are currently being auctioned online at https://meigrayauctions.com. The auction will conclude beginning at 9 p.m. ET on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2023.
The Captain’s Club Jersey Auction was initiated in 2004 to help fund the ECHL Health and Welfare Trust, which provides ECHL players and their families access to counseling services when dealing with personal and behavioral health concerns, or assistance with a specific hardship.
“The Captains’ Club jersey auction provides an excellent opportunity for both fans and collectors to acquire game-worn memorabilia while directly supporting ECHL players and their families,” said PHPA Executive Director, Larry Landon. “Captains hold significant leadership roles within their teams and communities and help empower others to seek assistance for matters that require extra attention.”
“Wow, what a great collection of jerseys this year,” said MeiGray President Barry Meisel. “The players, the colors, the styles. And for such a great cause, we hope collectors love adding these to their ECHL game-worn jersey collections.”
MeiGray has worked with the ECHL and the PHPA since 2001 and authenticates for six National Hockey League clubs, the National Basketball Association, and USA Hockey.
