Verhaeghe is Bellevue University ECHL Alumnus of the Month

Former Missouri Mavericks forward Carter Verhaeghe of the Florida Panthers is the Bellevue University ECHL Alumnus of the Month for November.

The 28-year-old had 14 points (7g-7a) in 15 games during the month. Verhaghe tallied at least one point in nine of his 15 games, including five two-point games.

A native of Toronto, Verhaeghe recorded 25 points (8g-17a) in 20 games with the Mavericks in 2015-16 and added 32 points (12g-20a) in 16 games in 2016-17.

Verhaghe has posted 195 points (103g-92a) in 277 career NHL games with Florida and Tampa Bay. He was a part of the Lightning’s Stanley Cup championship in 2020.

There have been 743 players who have played in the NHL after playing in the ECHL including three who have made their debut in 2023-24. The ECHL has had 551 players reach the NHL since 2002-03 when it changed its focus to become the primary developmental league for the NHL and the AHL. The ECHL had 97 players reach the NHL in its first 10 seasons and 215 in the first 15 years. There have been 487 ECHL players who have played their first game in the last 19 seasons for an average of more than 25 per year.
