Wedgewood is Bellevue University ECHL Alumnus of the Month

Former Trenton Titans and Adirondack Thunder goaltender Scott Wedgewood of the Dallas Stars is the Bellevue University ECHL Alumnus of the Month for December.

The 31-year-old went 7-1-0 in nine appearances during the month with a 2.75 goals-against average and a save percentage of .900. Wedgewood allowed two goals or less in four of his nine outings while making at least 25 saves six times.

A native of Brampton, Ontario, Wedgewood appeared in 48 games for Trenton in the 2011-12 season posting a record of 20-22-5 with one shutout, a 3.22 goals-against average and a save percentage of .900. He also recorded a win in his lone outing for Adirondack during the 2015-16 season.

Wedgewood has seen action in 113 career NHL games with Dallas, Arizona and New Jersey compiling a career record of 43-43-19 with six shutouts, a 3.01 goals-against average and a save percentage of .907.

There have been 744 players who have played in the NHL after playing in the ECHL including four who have made their debut in 2023-24. The ECHL has had 552 players reach the NHL since 2002-03 when it changed its focus to become the primary developmental league for the NHL and the AHL. The ECHL had 97 players reach the NHL in its first 10 seasons and 215 in the first 15 years. There have been 488 ECHL players who have played their first game in the last 19 seasons for an average of more than 25 per year.
