ECHL announces fine, suspensions

ECHL announces fine, suspensions

The ECHL Department of Player Safety on Saturday announced the following fine and suspensions. 

Iowa’s Goodsir suspended

 Iowa’s Adam Goodsir has been suspended for one game as a result of his action in ECHL Game #658, Indy at Iowa, on Feb. 16. 

Goodsir is suspended under Rule #46.22 as the result of receiving an instigating penalty in the final five minutes of regulation. 

Goodsir will miss Iowa’s game vs. Indy tonight (Feb. 17). 

Florida’s Johnson fine, suspended 

Florida’s Cam Johnson has been suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #672, Florida at Jacksonville, on Feb. 16.

 Johnson is fined and suspended under Rule #28 – Supplementary Discipline as the result of an unpenalized slew-footing infraction at the conclusion of the game. 

Johnson will miss Florida’s game at South Carolina tonight (Feb. 17). 

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players’ Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player’s Hardship Fund.
