Matt Register of the Idaho Steelheads became the 14th player in ECHL history to play in 600 career regular-season games on Friday at Trois-Rivières.
The 34-year-old has recorded 477 points (108g-369a) over 11 ECHL seasons with Idaho, Allen, Toledo, Colorado, Atlanta and Ontario. His 369 assists rank 10th all-time in ECHL history while his 477 points are third all-time among League defensemen and 42nd overall. This season, he ranks second among ECHL defensemen with 51 points (8g-43a) in 59 games entering Friday's action.
Register is a three-time Kelly Cup champion (Allen, 2016 and Colorado, 2017 and 2018), while advancing to the Kelly Cup Finals on two other occasions (Toledo, 2019 and Idaho, 2023). He is the ECHL all-time leader with 146 career postseason games played and 87 postseason assists while ranking second with 114 postseason points, just three behind the all-time mark of 117 held by Phil Berger.
