Aubin returns for fourth season with Grizzlies

West Valley City, Utah – Utah Grizzlies Head Coach/General Manager Tim Branham announced that the team has re-signed veteran forward Mathieu Aubin.

The Grizzlies are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Anaheim Ducks and the American Hockey League's San Diego Gulls.

Aubin, 29, returns for his fourth year in Utah after missing all of last season due to sustaining an injury in the team’s final preseason game. Despite being absent on the ice, Aubin was still very visible in the community and assisted Branham in the office and on the bench. He was named a co-recipient of the Grizzlies Community Service Award last season.

A veteran of 556 professional games and three professional championships (2 ECHL, 1 AHL), Aubin has totaled 112 points (42g-70a) in 130 regular-season games with the Grizzlies and has added 10 points (1g-9a) in 11 playoff games with Utah. In 2014-15, Aubin became the first Grizzlies player in over seven years to play in all 72 regular-season contests as he put up 26 goals and 42 assists and was the recipient of the team’s “Player’s Player” Award. He had 44 points (16g-28) in 58 games after being acquired from Cincinnati in November of the 2013-14 season.

Aubin led the Grizzlies in scoring during the 2014-2015 season, finished third in 2013-2014 and was drafted by the Montreal Canadians in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
