BRAMPTON, Ontario - The Brampton Beast, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Montreal Canadiens and AHL's St. John's IceCaps, announced that forward David Broll has signed with the club for the 2016-17 season.
Broll hails from Mississauga, Ontario and has spent the majority of his professional career in the American Hockey League. The 23-year-old spent last season with the Syracuse Crunch, appearing in 60 contests and picking up eight points (2g-6a) while racking up 112 penalty minutes.
Throughout his AHL career, he has appeared in 174 contests with the Crunch and the Toronto Marlies tallying 27 points (5g-22a) while collecting 371 penalty minutes.
Broll also suited up for 16 ECHL games with the Orlando Solar Bears in the 2014-15 season picking up nine points (2g-7a).
A draft choice of the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2011, Broll made his NHL debut during the 2013-14 season, appearing in five games and recording one assist and five penalty minutes.
Broll recorded 139 points (47g-92a) in 255 career Ontario Hockey League games with Erie and Sault Ste. Marie from 2009-13. In his final year of junior hockey in 2012-13, Broll served as an alternate captain with Sault Ste. Marie and posted 54 points (17g-34a) to go along with 77 penalty minutes.
