WINDSOR, Colo. – The Colorado Eagles, ECHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche, announced that they have agreed to terms with defenseman Sam Jardine for the 2016-17 season.
Jardine made his professional debut last season with the Indy Fuel, posting five points (2g-3a) in 50 games. A sixth-round selection (169th overall) of the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, Jardine also appeared in six games with the AHL's Rockford IceHogs during the 2015-16 season.
The Lacombe, Alberta native spent three seasons at Ohio State University, registering 32 points (3g-29a) in 98 games and serving as an alternate captain for the Buckeyes during his final season at the school in 2014-15. Jardine also spent two seasons at the junior level with the Camrose Kodiaks of the AJHL. In 104 games with the Kodiaks he notched 52 points (17g-35a), while also being named to the AJHL All-Rookie Team in 2011 and the AJHL All-Star Team in 2012.
