MOLINE, Ill. – The Quad City Mallards have signed forward Michael Parks for the 2016-17 season.
The Mallards are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Minnesota Wild and the American Hockey League's Iowa Wild.
Injury limited Parks to three games - and one assist - as a rookie with the AHL’s Lehigh Valley Phantoms last season.
Parks’ last full season was the 2014-15 campaign, during which the St. Louis, Mo. native scored 32 points (12g-20a) in 42 games as a senior at the University of North Dakota.
Over the course of his college career, Parks helped North Dakota to four straight NCAA Tournament berths, back-to-back Frozen Four appearances in 2014 and 2015, the 2011-12 Western Collegiate Hockey Association tournament title and the 2014-15 National Collegiate Hockey Conference regular season crown.
Parks, who served as an alternate captain each of his final two years at UND, was named to the All-NCHC Second Team as a junior in 2013-14 after producing 30 points (12g-18a) in 42 games. In total, he recorded 92 points (43g-49a) in 151 career collegiate games.
