WINDSOR, Colo. – The Colorado Eagles, ECHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche, announced that they have signed defenseman Michael Sdao to a contract for the 2016-17 season.
The native of Niwot, Colo. has spent the past three seasons in the American Hockey League with the Binghamton Senators and Rochester Americans, generating 22 points and 336 penalty minutes, while playing at a cumulative plus-11, in 135 games.
A seventh-round pick of the Ottawa Senators in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Sdao registered 54 points and 236 penalty minutes in four seasons at Princeton University. During his time at the NCAA level, Sdao was named to the All-Ivy League First Team on two separate occasions, while also being named to the ECAC All-Star Team during his junior season.
The 27 year-old spent two seasons at the junior level with the Lincoln Stars of the USHL, posting 19 points and 340 penalty minutes in 104 contests.
