Florida – The Everblades' annual Celebrity Golf Classic took place on Oct. 16. This full-team event is an annual fundraiser that benefits the 4 the Kids Foundation, an organization that is designed to bring joy and happiness to patients at The Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida.  The organization provided entertainment and other amenities to distract the children from the treatment they receive by creating a fun atmosphere. All of the proceeds from golf tournament and auction dinner go to the 4 The Kids Foundation.  The entire Everblades team was on hand, along with World Series champion and former Major League Baseball pitcher Derek Lowe. Four-time Stanley Cup champion Brian Rafalski was also on hand.  The event raised over $23,000 and has raised over $50,000 the past two seasons.

Greenville – The Greenville Swamp Rabbits proudly sponsored the American Cancer Society's Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K on Oct. 9 in downtown Greenville. Head Athletic Trainer Matt Aiello, along with Stomper and members of the front office staff led the warmup for all the participants. After the race, Stomper mingled with fans and all of Greenville’s Breast Cancer survivors were celebrated. The event helped raise almost $70,000 towards Breast Cancer research.

Missouri – The Missouri Mavericks held their Seventh Annual Golf Tournament benefiting the Jr. Mavs Youth Hockey Organization on Oct. 7 at Drumm Farm Golf Course in Independence, Mo. The tournament raised $13,000 for the youth hockey organization, with 22 teams and over 95 golfers participating. The event was the first opportunity for fans and partners to meet the 2016-17 Mavericks.

Norfolk – Many children, unfortunately, don’t have a safe environment to Trick-or-Treat. The Eastern Virginia Medical School wanted to help these families have a fun and safe option for Halloween 2016. EVMS invited local businesses and community partners to participate in Haunted Hallways where there were games, costumes and of course, candy! The event was attended by over 1,000 children and their families. The Admirals took part in this event, with mascot Hat Trick greeting trick-or-treaters and passing out candy.
