With a three-game sweep of their road trip last week, the Rapid City Rush extended their overall winning streak to four games and have improved their overall record to 6-9-1 for 13 points.
The Rush opened their road trip with a 2-0 win at Tulsa on Wednesday. Mark Cooper and Brenden Walker tallied the Rush’s goals, Josh Macdonald notched a pair of assists and Adam Morrison turned aside all 37 shots he faced to post the shutout.
Rapid City skated away with a 3-2 victory over the Oilers on Friday. Lindsay Sparks led the way offensively with a pair of assists while Morrison stopped 36 shots to improve to 3-0-0 on the season.
The road trip ended with a 6-3 win at Allen on Saturday. Macdonald tallied three points (1g-2a), Lindsay Sparks scored a pair of goals and Marek Langhamer turned aside 33 shots in his first start with the Rush this season to pick up the win in goal.
Sparks is tied for second in the league with 10 goals and 23 points while he leads the league with nine power-play points (6g-3a). Ryan Walters is tied for third with 16 assists and is tied for fifth with 21 points and Macdonald is tied for 10th with 19 points (8g-11a). Garrett Haar is tied for second in the league with six power-play assists.
Rapid City, which has gone 6-3-1 in its last 10 games, hosts Colorado on Wednesday before visiting the Eagles on Friday and Saturday.
