Lindsay Sparks of the Rapid City Rush is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Oct. 24-30.
Sparks scored four goals and added five assists for nine points in four games last week.
The 26-year-old had a goal and an assist in a 7-5 loss at Colorado on Wednesday, tallied two goals and an assist in a 6-3 loss at Alaska on Friday, picked up a goal and two assists in a 5-1 win at Alaska on Saturday and had an assist in a 5-4 overtime loss to the Aces on Sunday.
A native of Oakville, Ontario, Sparks had a six-game goal streak end on Sunday, but he did extend his point streak to eight games and he leads the ECHL with seven goals and 14 points.
Sparks has recorded 136 points (52g-84a) in 181 career ECHL games with Rapid City, Orlando, Cincinnati, Missouri, South Carolina, Greenville and Fort Wayne.
Prior to turning pro, he saw action in 83 career games at the University of Michigan, tallying 35 points (17g-18a).
On behalf of Lindsay Sparks, a case of pucks will be donated to a Rapid City youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more than 35,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
