Hoffman is The MeiGray Group/ECHL Alumnus of the Month

Former Elmira Jackals forward Mike Hoffman is The MeiGray Group ECHL Alumnus of the Month for November.

The leading distributor of game- worn hockey jerseys and “Official Game-Worn Jersey Source of the ECHL,” MeiGray has sold more than 7,000 jerseys since it became “The Official Game-Worn Jersey Source of the ECHL” in 2002-03.

The 27-year-old scored six goals and added five assists for 11 points in 13 games during the month. He had at least one point in six games during November, including a three-point game (1g-2a) on Nov, 22 at Montreal and a four-point effort (3g-1a) on Nov. 29 against Buffalo.

Selected by the Senators in the fifth round (130th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Hoffman has tallied 16 points (7g-9a) in 21 games with the Senators this season. He has 129 points (66g-63a) in 207 career NHL games with Ottawa.

A native of Kitchener, Ontario, Hoffman notched three assists in four games with the Jackals during the 2010-11 season. He also recorded 169 points (71g-98a) in 242 career games with Binghamton of the American Hockey League.

The ECHL has had 414 players reach the NHL since 2002-03 when it changed its focus to become the primary developmental league for the NHL and the AHL. The ECHL had 97 players reach the NHL in its first 10 seasons and 215 in the first 15 years. There have been 350 ECHL players who have played their first game in the last 12 seasons for an average of more than 29 per year.
