ECHL announces fines, suspensions

The ECHL on Monday announced the following fines and suspensions.

Wheeling’s Austin fined, suspended

Wheeling’s Johnny Austin has been suspended for two games and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #16, Wheeling at Norfolk, on Oct. 13.

Austin is fined and suspended under Rule #28 – Supplementary Discipline as the result of an unpenalized kneeing infraction at 12:55 of the third period.

Austin will miss Wheeling’s games at Indy (Oct. 20) and at Reading (Oct. 27).

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the ECHL and the Professional Hockey Players’ Association, player fines collected by the ECHL are given to the PHPA for its ECHL Player’s Hardship Fund.

Norfolk’s Maggio fined, suspended

Norfolk’s Daniel Maggio has been suspended for one game and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #16, Wheeling at Norfolk, on Oct. 13.

Maggio is fined and suspended under Rule #28 – Supplementary Discipline as a result of his actions at 12:55 of the third period.

Maggio will miss Norfolk’s game at Florida on Oct. 19.

Fort Wayne’s Crunk fined, suspended

Fort Wayne’s Taylor Crunk has been suspended for two games and fined an undisclosed amount as a result of his actions in ECHL Game #11, Fort Wayne at Cincinnati, on Oct. 13.

Crunk was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for cross checking under Rule #59.5 at 20:00 of the third period. He is fined and suspended under Rule #28 – Supplementary Discipline.

Crunk will miss Fort Wayne’s games at Kalamazoo (Oct. 19) and vs. Kalamazoo (Oct. 20).
