Cyclones sign Waltz

Cincinnati, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones have signed defenseman Colton Waltz to a contract ahead of the 2021-22 season.

The 26-year-old spent 2020-21 season with Strasbourg in France2 league, where he registered 16 points (5g-11a) in 13 games. Waltz spent the previous three seasons at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology where he served as captina during his junior and senior seasons. He helped the team to the ACAC palyoffs in hus first two seasons and totaled 57 points in 80 career games at NAIT.Prior to time at college, he played parts of five seasons in the Western Hockey League, spending the bulk of his stay with the Brandon Wheat Kings. He served as the team's alternate captain from 2013-16 and reached the WHL Finals in 2015.Waltz signed an Amateur Tryout with the Bakersfield Condors in the American Hockey League after completing his junior career, earning an assist in his lone game.
