Pezzetta makes NHL debut

Former Maine Mariners' forward Michael Pezzetta became the 705th former ECHL player to reach the National Hockey League when he debuted with the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday against Detroit.

Pezzetta is the seventh former ECHL player to make his NHL debut during the 2021-22 season. He registered six penalty minutes in three games with the Mariners during the 2018-19 season.

A sixth-round selection (160th overall) of the Canadiens in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft, Pezzetta has totaled 25 points (13g-12a) in 115 career games with Laval of the American Hockey League.
