Sandstrom makes NHL debut

Former Reading Royals' goaltender Felix Sandstrom became the 715th former ECHL player to reach the National Hockey League when he debuted with the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday at San Jose.

Sandstrom is the 17th former ECHL player to make his NHL debut during the 2021-22 season. He appeared in 25 games for the Royals during the 2019-20 season going 13-11-1 with two shutouts, a 3.22 goals-against average and a save percentage of .885.

A third-round selection (70th overall) of the Flyers in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, Sandstrom has seen action in 28 career games with Lehigh Valley of the American Hockey League where he is 9-10-6 with one shutout, a 3.08 goals-against average and a save percentage of .902.
